WHAT IS FOOTBALL?
At its core, football is a team sports played between two sides each with 11 players. The objective is simple score more goals than the opposing team by getting the ball into their net. A standard match lasts 90 minutes divided into two 45 minutes half with a 15 minute halftime on the football ground there are 22 players and 3 referees are their one referee who start and stop the match and give all the decision regarding the match on the pitch and 2 referees on the outside line of the ground which are called linesman which help the referee in giving the fair decision. Football is played on a rectangular grass or a artificial turf with a goal at each end. The ball used is spherical and usually made of leather or other durable material. Players wear jerseys, shorts, shin guard, socks and football boots goalkeeper jersey is different from his other team members to not get confused during the match. The only player allowed to use their hands during play is the goalkeeper and only within the penalty box.
BASIC RULES.
1. Kick off. Starts the game and resumes play after goals.
2. Offside. A player is offside if they are closer to the opponents goal than both the ball and the second last defender when the ball is passed to them unless they are in their own half.
3. Fouls. Include tripping pushing handballs except by the goalkeeper and other unsporting behaviour
4. Free kicks and penalties. Are awarded for fouls depending on where they occur.
5. Yellow and red cards. Are awarded by referees to caution or eject players for misconduct.
